Business Development Sales Manager

Department: Sales & Marketing

Reports to: Vice President of Sales & Marketing

AGCO-Amity JV, LLC, a global manufacturer of premium seeding and tillage equipment, has an immediate opening for a Business Development Sales Manager to join our team.  Reporting to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, this role is an integral part of the leadership team.

Job Summary

The primary role of the Business Development Sales Manager is to lead and grow the North American Sales of AAJV tillage and seeding products. Leading a talented sales team of District Managers and Independent Representatives, this position will be responsible for growing the sales of current dealers and building the dealer network through recruitment and contracting new dealers.   Developing business plans for each territory and dealer and executing to deliver the results of the plan will be the key to success for this position.  The successful candidate will be motivated, a self-starter, goal oriented, and work well in a team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • You will be leading a sales team that includes both employee District Managers and Independent Representatives to achieve sales and distribution growth results in North America.
  • Identify, analyze and prioritize open territories for sales potential, conduct market analysis and selects markets.
  • Working with your sales team, manage the prospecting and appointment of new dealers in the territory and growing the relationship of current dealers.  Identifies new Dealer/business opportunities to grow sales and develop new market segments that complement the company’s mission and goals.
  • Evaluates and ranks multiple prospects in the dealer selection process, makes recommendations to the Executive Management team.
  • Manages and executes the Dealer development process to include networking, prospecting, qualifying, interviewing, contract negotiation and proposal strategy to generate interest in becoming a Dealer;
  • Develops and maintains new dealer development planning program that provides business leaders with measurable goals, objectives, strategies, tactics, programs, and other pertinent information on perspective new dealers.
  • Create and execute strategy and action plans to meet sales and territory development goals established by management.
  • Implement sales/marketing policies, procedures and guidelines to deliver sales volume and create culture of accountability.
  • Builds relationships with dealers in the US and Canada to maximize the dealer success in the areas of sales, service and parts for AAJV products.
  • Responsible for coordinating all new dealer launch activities
  • Promotes financially stable dealer network and reports and responds to dealer needs. Drives dealer profitability; encourages dealers to participate in all service schools, programs, and sales training opportunities.
  • Reports problems, status, and attitudes of the dealer network to management, always promoting positive company/dealer relations.
  • Closely monitors competitive dealer and manufacturer activities.
  • Identify effective tradeshow and demonstration strategy for each region.
  • Represent company at local trade association meetings to promote products and dealer development.
  • Perform work in a safe manner, following all safety rules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • A 4-year degree in in business, engineering, or comparable discipline 

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5+ years successful track record in sales and sales management in the farm equipment or construction equipment area 
  • Documented success in business and dealer development, including dealer recruitment.
  • Proven ability to lead and work with a sales team 
  • Extensive understanding of parts/service/sales at dealer level
  • Dealership Management experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Communicate in an effective, professional manner to facilitate teamwork, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work both independently and in an team environment to organize and prioritize tasks to meet required deadlines.
  • Team player with the ability to provide leadership for change and improvement.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is responsible for leading a team of approximately seven District Managers and six Independent Representatives organizations.  This will include setting goals and evaluating performance, professional development, and also recruiting and developing new sales talent to join the team. 

Work Environment

This position is based in Wahpeton, ND and will consist of an office environment but also require traveling, which can include long drives for ground transportation and flights for air travel. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Manufacturing Engineer

Department: Manufacturing

AGCO-Amity JV, LLC is accepting applications for a results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to join our team.  Reporting to the General Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer is an integral part of the leadership team.

Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key part in conducting manufacturing engineering assignments in conformity with sound engineering principles, policies, and controls to develop new methods, processes, and product designs to resolve quality, cost and safety issues in manufacturing. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer will focus on working with Design Engineers on New Product Introduction (NPI) processes to optimize cost, quality, and manufacturing time of new products.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead projects to improve worker productivity and production output, quality and safety by improving manufacturing capabilities, including methods, processes, machine designs, tooling and fixtures, equipment, new manufacturing technology and performance measurement systems.
  • Analyze engineering designs, manufacturing processes and machine utilization, material routing and handling methods, tool design and application, etc. to seek improvement and effect changes to reduce cost and increase output.
  • Act as project leader/liaison and coordinate activities with manufacturing production departments and design engineering departments.
  • Be “voice of manufacturing” on product development teams, conducting print and design reviews with focus on improving the manufacturability of designs and determining optimum manufacturing methods.
  • Develop/write manufacturing processes/procedures/work instructions and routings and communicate to all affected personnel on the shop floor as well as train operators on the product and safe implementation of process changes with focus on incident prevention.
  • Improve workflow throughout the plant, including time and motion analysis, methods, process engineering and plant layout to ensure balanced methods and optimized flow.
  • Design load/shipping configurations, packaging, skids, etc. utilizing CAD programs.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about manufacturing processes, methods, equipment and tooling.
  • Initiate, support, and implement improvement ideas to improve productivity and reduce costs to achieve annual goals.
  • Lead and participate in kaizen events for continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Provide timely response and resolution to safety, quality, and production issues.
  • Facilitate process improvement teams and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Work in conjunction with the facility's management to complete risk and safety assessments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • A 4-year degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering and/or five years engineering experience in heavy manufacturing environment is required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Technical competency in steel fabrication, welding, machining, or paint finishing and thorough knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes is also required. 
  • 3-D CAD knowledge required, Creo and Windchill are preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical manuals and procedures, drawings, fabrication documentation and lengthy correspondence. 
  • Communicate in an effective, professional manner to facilitate teamwork, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain documentation associated with engineering change orders, bills of material, detailed CAD models and associated component drawings

Preferred Experience 

  • Planter, Sprayer and Tillage equipment design.
  • Experience with data collection systems for use in strain gage testing.
  • Understanding of hydraulic systems.
  • Understanding of modern farming practices.
  • Understanding the application of electronics on modern farm machinery, control modules, guidance systems, variable rate seeding and fertilizer application.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis.

Service Technician

AGCO-Amity JV, LLC is accepting applications for a results-driven Service Technician to join our tillage and seeding team. The Service Technician will be the point person for company and dealer technical questions, and support of the company’s products. Focusing on the entire Customer’s Use Experience, the Service Technician is a key role to providing a differentiated product support experience for customers and dealers for our seeding and tillage products.

Essential Duties

  • Provides technical product support for dealer network and customers via phone, or in-person.
  • Support dealers on customer field visit individually or with District Manager.
  • Conduct component and equipment discussions with sales and service staff.
  • Ag Dealership experience preferred.
  • Must have good Public Relation skills.
  • Be able to learn how to dis-assemble and re-assemble field tillage/air seeding equipment.
  • Overnight travel required. One to four nights a week out. (Company expense acct).

Skills/Qualification

  • Two plus (2+) years of relevant agricultural equipment experience preferred.
  • Ag Dealership experience preferred.
  • Must have strong welding abilities, cutting torches, etc.
  • Knowledge of Agricultural equipment.

  • Will need to pass medical exam.

Safety Coordinator

AGCO-Amity JV, LLC is accepting applications for a results-driven Safety Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, the Safety Coordinator is an integral part of the leadership team.

Job Summary

Responsible for development, maintenance and implementation of Safety Programs, and coordination of Environmental, Worker’s Compensation and Return-to-Work programs with the ultimate goal of reducing injury occurrences and severity for AGCO-Amity JV, LLC and Amity Technology at both the Wahpeton and Fargo locations, respectively.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and implement workplace safety programs for both Fargo and Wahpeton operations to include: Safety Manual, Ergonomics, PPE, Fire Safety, Severe Weather alerts, etc.
  • Administer First Aid, CPR and AED programs, keeping adequate number of trained volunteers on-hand.
  • Provide technical assistance with OSHA issues.
  • Plan and coordinate safety and accident prevention training and fire/weather alerts.
  • Coordinate Workers Compensation program in conjunction with the Medical Department.
  • Chair the Safety Committee, providing guidance and leadership to maximize impact on operations.
  • Maintain Safety Procedure Manual, updating and writing new procedures when applicable.
  • Be primary contact with OSHA for inspections, questions, etc.
  • Coordinate all Workplace Safety activity with Department Managers.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Department to ensure appropriate recording of work related injuries and illnesses as well as discuss preventative measures.
  • Conduct incident investigations and provide recommendations for corrective actions to manufacturing managers and supervision.
  • Conduct audits and provide recommendations for hazard elimination, and ensure implementation of corrective action.
  • Track, trend, and analyze data to drive improvements and overall safety performance to minimize incidents.
  • Perform training for specific safety topics including new employee orientation.
  • Champion for safety improvement throughout entire operation.
  • Attend appropriate seminars, schools, meetings conducted by professional organizations to increase knowledge of regulatory issues and requirements.

  • Managing compliance with OSHA’s General Industry
  • Managing the safety process to prevent and eliminate incidents and illnesses at the facility.
  • Participate and review incident investigations and prevention efforts in accordance with the GSI Incident

  • Act as an information resource to management by providing leadership for all aspects of the safety program.
  • Conduct and review safety evaluations of all areas of the facility for hazard prevention and control.
  • Ensure all required reports are accurate and completed as necessary.

Essential skills
